Sasol required a newly constructed dock located along the Calcasieu River near Lake Charles, Louisiana. The purpose of the dock was to accommodate unloading of construction materials, modules and equipment from barges near the Sasol Mega Project’s construction site. Cajun’s scope of work consists of engineering, labor, supervision, tools, equipment and services.

Work Performed

Cajun’s scope of work consists of engineering, labor, supervision, tools, equipment and services for the following:

  • Engineering design of bulkhead
  • Preparation of IFC drawings
  • Dredged 31,065.9 CY of soil
  • Imported over 360,000 CY of fill
  • Furnish and installation of Open Cell® sheet pile bulkhead
  • Furnish and installation of dock mooring piles and access bridges at staging area
  • Concrete surfacing, dock trim, winches, etc.
  • Drove six (6) 48” pilings
  • Set 413 FT of walkways
  • Laid 4,500 tons of rip rap
  • Bank stabilization at ends of bulkhead wall
  • Furnish and installation of two (2) protection warning/navigation buoys
  • Management of third party inspection and testing services
  • Placement of over 8,000 CY of structural concrete
  • Installation of lift and sluice gates
  • Modification of existing utilities for construction
  • Installation of mechanical equipment such as pumps, bar screens, aerators, screens, sludge presses, etc.
  • Installation of all electrical and instrumentation including the SCADA system,
