Cajun Industries was selected by MPLX as the general contractor for the Mount Airy Terminal Pit 7 Expansion Project, overseeing and executing critical pipe piling, civil foundation, and mechanical construction activities, including coordination of electrical and instrumentation (E&I) work. Leveraging its extensive self-perform capabilities, Cajun directly executed all major scopes of work except E&I, maintaining control over safety, quality, productivity, and schedule performance throughout the 10-month project. The team successfully installed 70 pipe piles, 1,401 cubic yards of structural concrete, 18,332 tons of limestone, 286 tons of structural steel, and more than 29,000 linear feet of carbon steel process piping. Driven by Cajun’s strong performance and commitment to project success, MPLX subsequently awarded the company additional scopes, including the Pit 7 final containment berm site work and the Dock Line #4 mechanical package, further strengthening the terminal’s infrastructure and operational capacity.
