Cajun was contracted by Shell to perform EPC services to complete replacement of the Alky Contactor 5 on an expedited schedule. EPC scope included removal of existing, modification of foundations, jack and slide contactor installation, retrofit piping revisions, upgraded the contactor seal system, and miscellaneous maintenance items. This EPC approach allowed Cajun’s engineering and mechanical disciplines to work hand in hand in resolving challenges quickly with minimum input from Shell. Cajun’s ability to streamline engineering enabled Cajun to find construction savings and meet schedule needs. Additional savings were realized by Shell as Cajun self-preformed the scope with minimum Shell field construction coordination efforts.
