LNG Facility – Storm Surge Wall

Cajun Industries executed the Engineer-Procure-Construct (EPC) delivery of two blast proof, pre-cast concrete buildings to house the owner’s critical Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) equipment. Cajun Engineering drew from experience earned during previous GIS projects to integrate with the owner’s design and construction team from FEL through Detailed Design of two complete buildings, including piling and foundation, pre-cast concrete superstructure, structural steel, fire suppression, custom-made blast doors, HVAC, electrical, and coatings. During this 18-month design, Cajun’s Procurement Department developed bid packages for necessary materials (specialty fabricated and commodities) and subcontractors who were included in the value engineering of the project. In addition to pure design and engineering, Cajun’s in-house engineers partnered with the construction business units to execute Construction Driven Engineering to ensure a safe design which enabled workforce and equipment planning before mobilization. The end result was a design that passed review by Federal authorities and meshed with the overall site development timeline.
