Tischman Safety Recognition
Phillip Tischman was recently the focus of Infrastructure’s first Hazard Recognition Lunch at the Entergy Luce Substation Foundations project. Phillip won first place in the Cajun Industries quarterly Hazard Recognition Award, and it was noted that he is a frequent nominee and four-time award winner. Members of Entergy management were invited to a lunch held in Phillip’s honor. Everyone involved enjoyed safety discussions and raffles. Phillip was awarded a 58” TV.
Born on an army base in Fort Campbell, Kentucky, Phillip is a father of seven children and resides in Leesville, Louisiana. He began his career at Cajun as a Carpenter Helper eight years ago while earning his NCCER in carpentry. Phillip has since worked his way up to Carpenter Foreman. His biggest motivation
for striving to win these awards is to recognize hazards that prevent people from getting hurt. “I would not be able to live with myself unless all possible measures were taken to prevent people from getting hurt on my watch,” says Phillip.
Phillip has worked in the construction industry for 15 years. What makes him want to stay with Cajun is the safety culture, and that at Cajun, we don’t just preach safety, we actively practice safety.
